[REVIEW] Skin1004 – Madagascar Centella Asiatica Ampoule

It has become a habit that every time I wrote a blog post I always start it with “I know its been awhile since the last time I wrote something”. Well, I am guilty of not being able to write as much as I used to. I have a lot of skincare that I want to review, but I also have lots of projects that need my attention and the last couple of weeks have been hectic. I got a chance to take a little breather this week and I decided to pay my due to this blog audience.

Skin1004’s Madagascar Centella Asiatica Ampoule is not really a new kid in the skincare game, its been in the market for quite long time but recently they got a new packaging that’s more sleek and minimalistic. As a fan of minimalist packaging, I totally approve this packaging. And honestly, I decided to try this because a lot of my friends said that this ampoule is amazing and they see a significant improvement in their skin after they use this ampoule.

So I gave it a shot.

I am a big fan of centella asiatica, I am in love with this ingredient ever since I tried dr jart’s cicapair serum. And honestly, I am willing to try this ampoule because of its main ingredient, centella asiatica. For those of you who don’t know, centella asiatica (or also known as tiger grass) is one of those natural ingredients that can calm sensitive, irritated skin, improves skin barrier, and hydrate your skin.

Basically, skin1004 claimed that this ampoule will instantly soothe sensitive skin and provides ample hydration to damaged skin for dewy looking skin.

As you can see (or not, pardon me I can’t upload videos in this blog), the ampoule has a very watery consistency. As it’s very watery, it absorbs to the skin really quickly. And trust me, a little goes a long way and I think this whole bottle gonna last for a quite long time. And another plus side to this ampoule is that it barely smells like anything, is it just me or this ampoule is actually smells like nothing? Please let me know.

Okay, before I start telling you my verdict on this ampoule, I just want to take this moment to appreciate and show how much I love the packaging. As a big fan of a minimalist packaging, I am sold.

What do I think after I use this for almost a month? Honestly, a mixed feelings. I don’t really experience that dewy glow as it claims. And for me this ampoule is not hydrating enough for me. My usual skincare routine is like this: cleanser/toner – ampoule – essence/serum – moisturizer – sunscreen, and one day I decided to skip my hydrating essence as I wanted to see if this ampoule is actually that hydrating. The result? a few hours later my skin feels tight. FYI, I have a dehydrated-oily skin and I just need that extra hydration for my skin. But I kinda like this as I think ever since I use this ampoule those annoying acne has stopped appearing in my face. Like a miracle.

As for the calming/soothes irritated skin claims, I cannot really say much as my skin is pretty much okay (e.g: not irritated) lately so I cannot see if it’s actually working or not.

Okay so that’s all from me, I hope its helpful and I hope you guys enjoy it! See you at the other time!
